Most fuel tanks are made out of black plastics. This makes it difficult to tell how much fuel is remaining in the tank. The white fuel balls help by adding a contrast which gives a 3rd dimension to the fuel level. This reduces guess work in filling the tank and in checking the remaining fuel level on a ride.
